I am a cornered dustbunny....
I decided to finally start cleaning my room last night, I think I've been keeping it at bay so long because I knew it was gonna be a hard job, and it certainly is gonna be a big undertaking. I have therefore decided to break it into the following stages...
Initial run throughThis is what I did, or started doing, last night. I sorted all my bills and placed them into their corresponding folder locations in my file cabinet. I did a couple loads of laundry and folded/hung all the clean laundry that had been already in my room. I threw away most of the trash lying around, and started going through some of the stuff I've been keeping for too long(of which I have something to say...but later). I also placed my old movie tickets and other ticket stubs in my box(which are supposed to be put into some collage thing, another one of my million projects). I still need to make sure all my DVD's are at least on my shelves and all the other junk in my room is accounted for and I know where they should go. I can also do an initial wipedown of my desk and stuff like that. Hopefully, I can be done by tonight.
Deep cleaning This is where I'm going to go through my closet, get rid of clothes that I no longer need. For that I will really need to look at my wardrobe realistically, or else I won't throw anything away. Maybe Cic's fashionista eye will help a little...but it might be too much, cuz she doesn't like about 75% of my wardrobe, he he he. Anyway, the discarded clothes will be either sent to my relatives in the Philippines, or to Goodwill. I will also gather all of the old electronics and put them into once box so I can bring them to the hazardous waste place. Have to do my part environmentally :) Then, go through the upper shelves of my closet and underneath the bed and start putting stuff into the garage.
Final Touches Once all of the stuff has been placed into the garage and everything has been picked up, organized, and/or properly disposed of. I can vacuum, dust, and wipe everything clean, resulting in a room, worthy of being called, "clean."
Is Wednesday a realistic goal? We'll see...
Geez....did I just write about CLEANING?!? Somebody shoot me...
Out w/ the old...
So during stage 1 of cleaning my room last night, I came accross old b-day/x-mas cards. I don't know what it is, but I feel guilty about having to throw them away. I mean, honestly, I'm probably not gonna really read them again, and I really don't know what it is that makes me feel guilty about trashing them, but I do. Maybe it's because it's a gift from someone, or I feel like I'm throwing away their sentiment or something. Maybe it's because I'm just a pack rat and I hate throwing anything away. Anyway, I had to force myself past that little hurdle and began to throw them away. Even as I was doing so, I was overcome w/ hesitation...weird.
